In celebration of Nike's upcoming Air Max Day, Ronnie Fieg has announced a special collaboration with the Swoosh and design firm Snarkitecture.
Using the hashtag #KITHNIKEARTIFACT as the name of the project, Fieg took a moment on Kith's blog to share details regarding his latest venture. Having grown up in New York City, Fieg saw the relevance of the Air Max line developing on the streets of NYC and eventually fell in love with its silhouettes. Using inspiration from KITH's flagship location, Fieg will be commemorating this year's Air Max Day - March 26, 2015 - with 100 white cast models of Nike's upcoming Air Max Zero, which was created by the same firm, Snarkitecture, that produced the white cast Air Jordan 1s in Kith's SoHo location.
Beginning tomorrow, March 21, fans will be able to get this special package - which includes a tri-branded dust bag along with special box - hidden in vintage NYC call boxes on street corners that were significant to Fieg growing up across all five of boroughs in what's essentially a modern day treasure hunt. In addition to the package, a ticket will also be included that will allow the bearer to purchase a pair of the Air Max Zero at the Kith SoHo location.
It looks like NYC 'heads will have something else to do besides cop sneakers come Saturday morning.
