We’ve seen some disparate reporting on this upcoming New Balance pack, so we thought we’d help keep the record straight.
Next month (February), New Balance is set to release their Made in the UK “Flying the Flag” Pack. The Flag they’re referring to is the Union Jack, the flag that represents the United Kingdom, combining the flags from England, Scotland, and Ireland. Sneaker designs usually take about six months from design to release, and considering the fact that the referendum for Scottish independence was less than six months ago, this release could have been smaller by on third if the vote had gone the other way (the blue in the Union Jack comes from Scotland’s original flag, before 1606).
The pack features three shoes, all in suede and leather, a white 577, a red 1500, and a blue CM1300. Expect to see these release in Europe next month. There’s no word on a US release, but if they do come over to the Yanks, expect them to be very limited.
