It seems like all the recent sneaker headlines have put sneaker culture in a bad light, especially with all the chaos that surrounded this past weekend's Air Jordan XI "Legend Blue" release. Amidst all this negativity is an awesome story that will restore your confidence in the people who have a passion for sneakers.

Yaovi Mawuli, a high school senior in North Carolina, gifted a fellow classmate who was being bullied with a pair of "Concord" Air Jordan XI Lows. Mawuli was in French class when he noticed that sophomore Jared Newby was being made fun of because of his worn-down sneakers.

"I could not live with the fact that such a cool guy would be made fun of in this way," Mawuli told Nice Nicks in a recent interview. "I remember I got made fun of for wearing some shoes that had 2006 on them while we were in year 2008."

Mawuli took matters into his own hands and decided he wanted to give Newby a pair of his Jordans. But he wasn't quite sure how he would execute the plan, so he shared his idea on a local Facebook group for sneakerheads to get some advice.

The two would eventually meetup in a counselor's office where Mawuli gave Newby the XIs. The teens snapped a photo together, which has since gone viral.

Much respect, young man.
