One of the key releases of this year's Nike Doernbecher Freestyle Collection was the Nike Air Max Penny 1.

Fans were disappointed when the shoe was delayed, but delighted when the shoe released a week later. If you were amongst the lucky few to snag a pair, you'll have a chance to make them a little more special while doing it for a good cause. Later this month, on Sunday, December 28, sneakerheads will have an opportunity to meet the designer behind the Penny 1 DB, Alejandro Muñoz in Dallas, Texas at the boutique, Collective Status.

Alejandro Muñoz hails from Portland, Oregon and considers the San Franciso 49ers his favorite team and the team's tight end, Vernon Davis, his favorite player. Playing  football is amongst his passions, but unfortunately for Alejandro, he was born with a dysfunctional set of kidneys. Visits to the Doernbecher facility have become the norm, but you'll be hard pressed to knock the smile off his face, a testament of his willingness to overcome his disease.

All proceeds and donations from the event will go to benefit Alejandro. For full details on the meet and greet, check out the flyer below and head over to  AlejandroMunoz.Eventbrite.com to get your tickets.
