There’s only one color that matters in the NBA and it ain’t green. It’s gold. Contrary to what some cynical fans will tell you, players play to win. They want that shining gold Larry O’Brien trophy. It’s where the journey ends.
At this time on the calendar, with Halloween just around the corner, everyone has a little bounce in their step. No one is struggling with nagging injuries or sore legs from playing four games in five nights. No one is frustrated with a role. No one is trying to get traded. Right now everyone believes they have a shot to win.
In the East, it all starts with Cleveland and Chicago. Those teams have enough new firepower to light up their city skylines. The Cavs famously nabbed two complementing all-world talents in LeBron James and Kevin Love to go with a solid foundation of Kyrie Irving, Dion Waiters, Tristan Thompson, and Anderson Varejao. On the other side, the Bulls added Pau Gasol and a healthy Derrick Rose, setting up a predictable Eastern Conference Finals showdown.
Both fan bases are already talking championship parades, but that doesn’t mean you can’t join the fun, too.
Celebrate the start of the season with the NBA Precious Metals Collection in The Game Plan from Champs Sports. It features blackout and gold-accented Cleveland Cavaliers hoodies, jerseys, and t-shirts for you to floss in. Add in the adidas Samoa and the Rose 773 and you’ll be appropriately laced with new heat to start the year.
Even if your squad is struggling with old age and young talent (hi, Kobe and the Lakers!), a true fan always sports a little optimism in October. Don’t just show up to the party rocking your team’s colors. Show up to the party wearing the only color that matters. Gold.
