Only Kobe Can Make an Airball Look This Good

Last night marked the end of a long road to recovery for Lakers star Kobe Bryant. Kobe was shut down after an injury riddled 2013-14 season, and barely got to wear his latest signature with the Swoosh. The Black Mamba returned to action last night in the Lakers first preseason game of the season, and laced up a special player exclusive version of the Nike Kobe 9 Elite.

Kobe dropped 13 points in his long awaited return to the court, but it wasn't all good for the Mamba. With his first shot from the field, Kobe airballed a basic free throw jumper that we've seen him knock down about a million times in his career.

We can't clown on Kobe too much, because despite his airball, he killed the sneaker game in his comeback. Similar to the "Beethoven" colorway of the Kobe 9 low, Nike rolled out a high top version of the predominately white sneaker. Much like the low top version, the Elite PE comes with paint speckled print through the midsole area, and is finished off with purple accents through the branding. No official word on a release date, but hopefully Kobe can return to top form, and Nike continues to roll out colorways of one of the best basketball shoes from last year.
