No. 10 - Frank Underwood

Show: House of Cards
Pros: Francis is relentless—he’s not the type to call it quits before reaching his goal.
Cons: He can be cunning, deceitful, and even murderous, so protect ya neck.

Frank Underwood knows a thing or two about working with others. In the White House, he used his relationships to slyly work his way into the President’s chair and at home, you’ll often catch him out running with his wife Claire. From rowing to pounding the pavement, we can’t help but admire his “never say die” attitude.

No. 9 - Kim Kardashian

Show: Keeping Up with the Kardashians
Pros: Kim is surprisingly disciplined in the gym, and there definitely won’t be any shortage of eye candy.
Cons:
Kanye will be breathing down your neck.

You might be able to keep up with Kim and company on E!, but can you do it in the gym? Mrs. West’s killer figure are enough to give anyone motivation to push a little harder, better, faster, stronger in the gym.

No. 8 - Avon Barksdale

Show: The Wire
Pros: He was once a skilled amateur boxer and would make a perfect sparring partner.
Cons: He’s knee-deep in Baltimore’s drug trade and has a terrible temper.

We wouldn’t want to cross paths with Avon on the streets, but he’d be a hell of a partner in the gym. Before his incarceration in Season 3, Barksdale lent his old friend Cutty the money needed to open a boxing gym. With all the time he’s been spending on the weights in prison, we’re sure Avon can still throw a mean right hook.

No. 7 - Chris Traeger

Show: Parks and Recreation
Pros: Chris thinks a 15k is a “light run”. There’s no stopping this guy.
Cons: He can be a little overenthusiastic at times.

Chris is one of the funniest characters on Parks and Rec, and he takes his fitness very seriously. While we might not be able keep up with his strict diets and regimens, the laughs and motivation would make it all worth it.

No. 6 - Janae Watson

Show: Orange is the New Black
Pros: She was a high school track star and can still outrun the other inmates.
Cons:
You don’t want to get on her bad side.

OITNB is full of great characters, but we think Janae would make the best gym buddy. Not only does she love running, but she’s taken up other ventures thanks to her friendship with Yoga Jones.

No. 5 - Hank Schrader

Show: Breaking Bad
Pros: He’s one of the biggest badasses ever on TV. Long Live ASAC.
Cons: He won’t stop talking about those damn rocks.

Who else recover from such a debilitating injury and come back even stronger and smarter? Hank Schrader suffered a heartbreaking fate deep in the Albuquerque deserts, but if we had the chance, we’d love to hit the weights with Walt’s brother-in-law.

No. 4 - Daryl Dixon

Show: The Walking Dead
Pros: You’ll be ready if there’s ever a zombie apocalypse.
Cons: You might have to fend off a few walkers to hang with this guy.

I’ll be honest, I need to do some catching up on TWD, but I’ve seen enough to know that Daryl is one of the toughest dudes in Georgia. He’s one of just five characters to last through each season, so his survivalist instincts would prove valuable in a number of situations.

No. 3 - Brock Lesnar

Show: WWE Monday Night Raw
Pros: The WWE Champion could double as both your training partner and bodyguard.
Cons: He’s notorious for breaking people’s arms.

Brock Lesnar went from WWE brawler to UFC Heavyweight Champion and back again, and also managed to get in a brief stint with the Minnesota Vikings along the way. These days, he’s wreaking havoc in the wrestling ring, and there’s no one better to learn from than the champ himself.

No. 2 - Adam Sackler

Show: Girls
Pros: Adam puts his fitness over everything, even his relationship with Hannah.
Cons: He’s volatile and unpredictable, you never know what you’re going to get.

Adam’s one of the hardest characters to evaluate, but there’s no questioning his dedication to working out. His motivational tactics might be a little, uhh.. unconventional, but we dig it.

No. 1 - Debra Morgan

Show: Dexter
Pros:
Deb’s extremely loyal. She’ll never leave you without a partner.
Cons:
Her brother’s a serial killer. Enough said.

No matter how busy her schedule is, Debra never misses a workout. She even seems to become a little obsessive with the cardio at points, but that’s exactly what some of us need. Hopefully you won’t have to hang around for Season 8, though.
