Looks like Pharrell will be the first new signee at Adidas to have a signature sneaker collaboration hit the shelves. The Pharrell x Adidas Originals Stan Smiths release this weekend, Saturday September 20th. I know we've been hit over the head with Stan Smith collaborations in the past nine months—the only sneaker to even come close to experiencing a similar renaissance this year is probably the Reebok Instapump Fury—but these joints ain't bad. Though, for $150 a pop, you could pick up two pairs of original Stans. But, when it comes to exclusive sneaker drops, logic and rational thought pretty much flies out the window.
The pack of red, black and blue colorways adds to the already extensive Stan Smith spectrum and feature a nice little touch on the heel tab that shows your WiFi signal strength wherever you go. Don't be misled by the photography, what looks like distressing on the side of the shoe is just the reflection from the puddle these were shot on. You can pick up Pharrell x Adidas at a variety of locations this weekend, like Packer Shoes on Friday at midnight and at the BBC flagship in NYC.
Update: The upcoming Pharrell x Adidas Originals collection also features leather bombers done up in the classic Adidas track jacket style (WITH DOUBLE ZIPS!) to match.
