The Shoes That Won Last Night: Dodgers Make it 6 Straight

There's no doubt about it—the Los Angeles Dodgers are the hottest team in baseball. Last night, they won their sixth straight game and capped off their series against the Braves with a 2-1 win. Once again, pitcher Clayton Kershaw was the man for LA, finishing his second consecutive complete game with 9 strikeouts. Since June 2, Kershaw won 10 straight, which is the longest run in the MLB this season, and has now improved his ERA to an unbelievable 1.71. To put it in perspective, over his last 70 innings on the mound, Kershaw has only allowed four runs. On offense, Yasiel Puig was up to his usual tricks, scoring early in the first inning to get the Dodgers on the board and following it up with a 389 foot homer in the third, his 13th on the year. Later in the top of the 9th, the Braves finally scored but were unable to mount a comeback, resulting in their third straight L.

Catch the rest of last night's MLB action, as well as coverage from the ATP Citi Open in DC and Maya Moore's PE Jordans after the break.
