One of the most coveted Air Jordan models will stop being produced indefinitely. According to Sole Collector, Jordan Brand VP of Footwear David Schechter revealed that the Air Jordan III will be tucked away for an unspecified amount of time.

"The Air Jordan 3 is going back in the vault. The last color just dropped," Schechter said during a Jordan Brand event in NYC tonight.

The colorway Schechter is referring to is the "Sport Blue" IIIs, which released on August 16.

Schechter said that the reason behind the decision was to "reset" the model made famous by Michael Jordan's free-throw line dunk in 1988. He added that when the sneakers do come back, it will be a fully remastered product.

Earlier, Jordan Brand revealed its spring 2015 lineup of remastered retros, which includes the "Oreo" IVs, "French Blue" VIIs, and all-new colorways of the X.
