If you don't remember how it all went down, the sneakers were only available through the NBA 2K14 video game and could only be acquired if you achieved certain milestones. As if that wasn't crazy enough, the "2K14s" were limited to only 2,014 pairs (see what Nike did there?), and Foamie happened to be one of the lucky winners.
