Mike Trout has undeniably became the face of baseball, ushering in a new generation of players and bringing the game past the dark shadow cast from year's of rampant steroid use. Trout has signed on with Swoosh recently, and Nike is looking to progress the sport of baseball through technology with the Vapor Collection.

The highlight of the collection is the Nike Lunar Vapor Trout, the first signature cleat for the Angel's prodigy, and it was designed for speed with ultra-light cushioning. Trout helped in the design process so he could develop a cleat built around his game type. Due to it's lightweight design featuring Lunarlon foam cushioning, and a split Pebax speed plate for ultra-responsive movement across the field, the Lunar Vapor Trout allows you to steal more bases, get to more balls in the outfield, and get out of the batters box quickly. Nike used Flywire technology to cradle the foot and a four-way stretch mesh inner sleeve provides for an even more adaptive fit.

"I'm happy to have my own shoe." Trout said when asked about his signature model at the Nike unveiling event. "It gives me chills to have my name on a shoe. I remember seeing the Griffey's and wanted to have something like that."

In addition to the Nike Lunar Vapor Trout, the Vapor Collection also includes the Pro Combat Hyperstrong Slider Tight, the Pro Combat Hyperwarm Player’s Sleeve, the Tru Vapor Fitted Cap, the Elite Vapor Crew and the Nike Vapor Elite Pro Batting Glove.

The Nike Lunar Vapor Trout will be available for pre-order on Nike Store beginning today , June 20, and will arrive at select retailers on July 12.
