After releasing five consecutive low-top sneakers from Kobe Bryant's signature line, Nike turned the tide when the super high Kobe 9 Elite was revealed. This weekend, though, Nike makes a return to the low-profile aesthetic that Kobe fans have greatly enjoyed. The Nike Kobe 9 EM sports a lightweight mesh upper that sits atop a Lunarlon midsole. Besides height, another obvious difference on these Kobe 9 EMs is that there is no Flyknit technology integrated into this sneaker whatsoever. Black Mamba fans, you get your low-top Kobe 9s, but with no Flyknit. Does that affect your decision?
The first Kobe 9 EM will be the "University Gold" colorway that releases this Saturday on Nike Store and select Nike retailers. Retail price on these low-profile Kobes will be $160.
