The Air Jordan IX "Birmingham Barons" Is Another Hit

Legend in two games?

Air Jordan IX "Birmingham Barons"

Even though the Air Jordan III "5Lab3" is the last sneaker yet to be released from Jordan Brand this month, we've already got our sights set on the first weekend of April and the Air Jordan IX "Birmingham Barons." These IXs commemorate the time when MJ first hung up his basketball sneakers and put on baseball cleats as part of the Chicago White Sox's Double-A affiliate in 1994.

Outfitted in the Barons' team colors, the IXs feature a white and grey upper, pinstripe lining, and black accents on the midsole, tongue, and heel tab. What really sets these neutral-colored sneakers off, though, is Jordan Brand decided to replace the IX's usual 23 on the heel with MJ's baseball number, 45. So legendary.

The Air Jordan IX "Birmingham Barons" will be released on April 5 on Nike Store and Jordan Brand retailers like Nohble. Mark your calendars and don't strike out.
