Following months of built-up hype, Puma has officially announced the launch of what’s perhaps the brand’s most advanced soccer cleat to date—the evoPOWER.

Designed to mimic barefoot play, the evoPOWER is a high-tech boot that features Gradual Stability Frame (FSF) technology, allowing it to bend with the natural motion of the foot for optimized power and accuracy.

The boot has yet to hit retail, however Puma has already convinced an impressive list of professional players to lace up in the evoPOWER. Among them are Cesc Fabregas, Mario Balotelli, Marco Reus and Thierry Henry (who helps introduce the boot in the video above).

Here’s what FC Barcelona’s Fabregas had to say in regards to the new cleat: “Taking inspiration for a football boot from an actual foot sounds like the most obvious thing in the world, but in all the time I’ve spent in football, it’s the first time I’ve heard of this being done.

"When you try on these new boots, they are actually quite different to what we have worn before. They are so much more flexible - the way they bend with the natural shape of your foot really helps you to shoot harder.”

The evoPOWER will be available starting February 1, 2014.
