Duke freshman forward Jabari Parker is a rare basketball player that’s not only lived up to the hype, but exceeded expectations. Before he even suited up for his first game as a Blue Devil, the Simeon Career Academy grad was already being unfairly compared to perennial NBA All-Stars like Grant Hill, Carmelo Anthony, and Paul Pierce. Now that’s a crazy amount of pressure to place on a teenager’s shoulders. All eyes are sure to be on Jabari tonight when Duke takes on UCLA tonight on ESPN.

But, along with a polished game on the hardwood, Parker has also flashed a sick kick game that’s slowly but surely turning heads towards the 18 year-old’s feet. He rocked Playoff XIIs when he graced the cover of Sports Illustrated as a high school junior, Concords at Duke’s media day, and has been wearing Zoom Soldier VII’s while dominating the competition. It’s obvious that Parker has a great sneaker sense and with some digging, we found ten pairs of retros that we’d love to see Parker break out to honor the players and trends that came before him. Here are 10 Retros We’d Like to See Jabari Parker Wear On Court.

During his first national showing against Kansas back in early November, Jabari caught an alley-oop for a one-handed slam that let the college basketball world know that he had arrived. After seeing the play, the internet went right to work and dug up some game film of Grant Hill during Duke's '91 National Championship victory over Kansas. When putting the dunks side-by-side, they are nearly identical--except for the footwear. While Parker leapt in a brand new pair of Nikes, Hill did his damage in a crisp pair of adidas Torison Artillery IIs. Though it would be impossible for Parker to get away with wearing adidas while suiting up for Duke, the thought of him completing the same alley-oop while wearing the same kicks is alluring.
