This World Series just got interesting. The Boston Red Sox won Game One in easy fashion but the St. Louis Cardinals returned the favor. They were able to even the series at 1-1 behind a solid pitching performance from Michael Wacha and some clutch hitting from Carlos Beltran. They ended up winning Game Two of the World Series 4-2.

Thursday Night Football took place last night as the Carolina Panthers won continuing the Buccaneers winless season at 0-7. Cam newton came through with two touchdowns and DeAngelo Williams added a rushing touchdown for good measure in Carolina's 31-13 victory pushing them to 4-3. There were a few NBA games on the schedule last night. The Houston Rockets routed the San Antonio Spurs 109-92 behind double-double performances from Dwight Howard and James Harden and the Detroit Pistons eked out a 99-98 victory over the Detroit Pistons behind 15 points from greg Monroe. Shoe: Air Jordan Super.Fly 2
Player: Gerald Henderson
Game: Boston Celtics vs. Brooklyn Nets

The Charlotte Bobcats have finished with some historically bad seasons the past two years, but they look to enter the neighborhood of respectability and average losing, with the addition of Al Jefferson. Outside of Jefferson, the Bobcats need some of their young players to step up. One of those players is Gerald Henderson. Henderson is wearing the Jordan brand Air Jordan Super.Fly 2's of team owner and mentor Michael Jordan, so he has no choice to step up and play like he deserves to wear Jordan's. Henderson had 19 points, 3 rebounds, and 5 assists in the Bobcats' 105-92 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers. Henderson seems to have done some work on his ballhandling and passing so expect a much improved year from the Duke product.

Shoe: Nike Air Zoom Merciless
Player: DeAngelo Williams
Game: Carolina Panthers vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Carolina Panthers are alway going to be Cam Newton's team for now at least. The passing game might be all of the talk, but the running game can do some damage as well. DeAngelo Williams heads that run attack for the Panthers and he played a key role in the Panthers win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 31-13. Williams rushed for 43 yards on 8 carries and he scored a touchdown on a 12-yard run in the second quarter that pushed Carolina's lead to 14-3.

The Detroit Pistons have a chance to make the Playoffs and part of that can be thanks to Greg Monroe. Monroe is expecting to cash in on an extension so he definitely has something to play for as he progresses in his NBA career. Monroe had 17 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists in Detroits tight 99-98 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Many people are unsure of how well the Portland Trail Blazers will play this season, but Nic Batum can greatly impact where the Blazers end up this season. Batum is one of the better all-around offensive players in the league. In the Blazers 90-74 win over the Golden State Warriors, Batum had 10 points, 15 rebounds, and 4 assists. Batum is dynamic and will look to do a little bit of everything for Portland this season while wearing the adidas adiZero Crazy Light 3.

Player: James Harden
Game: Houston Rockets vs. San Antonio Spurs

Fear the Beard. That's all that can be said to James Harden. The Rockets All-Star dominated last season and is looking to follow that up with another great season. Harden had a double-double of 22 points and 11 assists in the Rockets easy 109-92 victory over the San Antonio Spurs. Expect Harden's assist numbers to rise when paired with Dwight Howard in the pick and roll this season which will amount to some very easy buckets.

Shoe: Nike Air Huarache Pro Mid Metal
Player: Carlos Beltran
Game: St. Louis Cardinals vs. Boston Red Sox

Carlos Beltran was a late-game addition as his status was up in the air after making such a great robbery of a home run on Wednesday night. Beltran returned and toughed it out in the Cardinals' 4-2 victory. Beltran had two hits including one two-out RBI single in the top of the seventh inning to give the Cards their 4-2 lead.

Shoe: Nike Alpha Pro Low TD
Player: Ted Ginn, Jr.
Game: Carolina Panthers vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Ted Ginn, Jr. was the top target of Cam Newton last night. The Carolina Panthers wide receiver had 80 yards receiving on 5 catches including a 35-yard hook up with Newton in the second quarter that directly led to DeAngelo Williams' touchdown rush in the second quarter. Ginn's performance definitely opens up the Panthers passing attack and offense overall.

Shoe: Under Armour Football Cleat PE
Player: Cam Newton
Game: Carolina Panthers vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

There are many people that doubt the decision-making and thinking of Cam Newton. Newton's overcome some early season struggles as the Panthers defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 31-13. Newton was making some great reads checking all of his options and having patience on the field to make the right play. Newton threw for 221 yards and 2 touchdowns to take the Panthers to 4-3 which is the first time the Panthers have been over .500 in over five years.

Shoe: adidas D Howard 4
Player: Dwight Howard
Game: Houston Rockets vs. San Antonio Spurs

While Dwight Howard isn't scoring at the rate that made him a star, he's doing all the dirty work for the Houston Rockets. Howard had a double-double (15 points, 16 rebounds) as the Rockets were able to handle the San Antonio Spurs 109-92. Howard was imposing on the glass and in the paint as he had 2 blocks as well to help the Rockets win in a rout. If Howard handles the defensive end without fouling, the Rockets will be very scary this season. Those adidas D Howard 4's will be equally scary.

Shoe: Nike Air Max Gamer
Player: Michael Wacha
Game: St. Louis Cardinals vs. Boston Red Sox

Critics will say that rookies aren't ready for the big moment, but they must've never met Michael Wacha. The Cardinals rookie has been nearly unhittable during the Cardinals' Postseason run. He was on fire in Game Two of the Cardinals matchup with the Boston Red Sox. Wacha threw six innings and only gave up two runs on a David Ortiz two-run homer in the bottom of  the sixth inning. Other than that, Wacha was dealing as he gave up just five hits and struck out six batters in St. Louis' 4-2 victory to tie the World Series at 1-1.
