To compliment its collection of Faas road racing shoes, Puma has introduced a Faas trail lineup in 2013 as well. While the series includes a trio of different models that vary in construction (from lightweight to more substantial), the Faas 100 TR is the lightest of group, and it could very well be the fastest.
The Faas 100 TR features a lightweight, yet protective, single layer mesh upper construction for all the ventilation you’ll need on the trail. The shoe is fairly comfortable thanks to a FaasFoam+ one-piece midsole that is both cushioned and resilient. It also features a molded high-rebound EcoOrthoLite sockliner for a more conformed fit.
A trail running shoe is only as good as its outsole. Fortunately for the Faas 100 TR, it features an EverTrack abrasion resistant rubber outsole with earthCELL multi-directional lugs for proper traction on uneven terrain. The outsole is fairly modest in design, though it is tuned specifically for off-roading needs. Additional features include an internal suede midfoot EverFit structure for improved stability, bungee laces, as well as reinforced welding in areas like the toe for protection against debris.
