During Apple's conference yesterday, the pioneering tech brand showed off the new iPhone 5s. How will it change athlete lives? By featuring the all new M7 “motion coprocessor.”

This new element in the iPhone 5S identifies user movement and tells your apps if you’re moving or driving. What does this mean for runners? Nike and Apple are linking up to create a new app that will use the M7 processor and help track your movement throughout the day.

Dubbed the Nike+ Move App, the new app will be an introductory experience to Nike Fuel for those who don’t have the Nike+ FuelBand. The app calculates how active you are during the day and uses Nike Fuel to motivate you to do more. With the help of the Game Center App and GPS, you can challenge your friends to move more—pushing the FuelBand experience right to your phone. Nike says, “The Nike+ ecosystem—led by Nike+ Running, Nike+ FuelBand and the Nike+ FuelBand App—includes features and functionality far beyond what the introductory Nike+ Move App delivers."

The iPhone 5S will release on September 20th.
