It took an excess of four hours for the match to finish, but Novak Djokovic was finally able to drop Stanislas Wawrinka after their brutal semifinal contest and head to Monday's men's singles finals at the U.S. Open. But even after Djokovic's epic semi match, there was still one spot left to be filled for the finals.

Matched against Richard Gasquet, Rafael Nadal was able to take the match in straight sets with a score of 6-4, 7-6 (1), 6-2. In comparison to the Djokovic-Wawrinka battle, Nadal only needed two hours and 21 minutes to finish off Gasquet. Nadal was once again laced in the Nike Air Courtballistec 4.3 as he wrapped up the semifinals. The Courtballistec 4.3 uses Drag-On 2X technology for durable protection on its upper, while Air Max and Lunarlon are combined for a balanced cushioning setup.

Now, one of the greatest rivalries of tennis history will be resumed on one of the game's biggest stages. Nadal's currently got an edge over Djokovic, leading their meetings with a record of 21-15. Just three years ago, the two met in the finals of the 2010 U.S. Open, where Nadal secured the only U.S. Open singles win of his career. Will history repeat itself on Monday evening?
