The Nike Free Flyknit+ and Free Hyperfeel sneakers aren’t the only running innovations rolled out by Nike yesterday at the Portland, Oregon headquarters. Along with the footwear, the Swoosh flexed its innovative muscles in the performance apparel department as well with the unveiling of the Nike Aeroloft technology.

Utilized in the Aeroloft 800 Vest, the technology is designed to give runners best of both insulation and ventilation. While insulation generally isn’t very breathable, the Nike Aeroloft technology uses unique alternating zones of down and synthetic insulation and perforated ventilation to achieve the best of both worlds. The result is a lightweight that will keep you warm in the cooler months, and will allow your body to keep a regulated temperature.

The vest features a streamlined design that fits closely to the body to reduce bulk and drag. Its custom fit also allows heat to stay closer to the skin. On the back, a reflective, zippered pocket helps improve runners’ visibility during bad weather, and offers storage for essentials.

Stay tuned for release information on the Nike Aeroloft 800 Vest.
