Iconic Pop Culture Figures Defined By Their Footwear

They say the shoes make the man, and in the eyes of Italian artist Federico Mauro, they have the power to the make the celebrity. In his latest series, entitled "Famous Footwear," the artist photographed footwear so iconic that simply seeing it reminds us of the person or character who wore them. Frankly, the series is hit or miss, with examples like Marty McFly's Air Mags and Steve Jobs' New Balances resonating much clearly than, say, Jack Sparrow's drunken pirate booties. Either way, the concept is interesting and illuminates the point that certain garments still have the power to elicit an emotional connection even for jaded motherfuckers like us.
