There’s no other running shoe quite like the Mizuno Wave Prophecy. An aerodynamic design and high rebound potential make it stand out amongst the masses both visually and in terms of performance capacity—thus why it’s regarded as one of best running shoes of all time. So you can see why we’d be excited to hear the next (third) installment of the high tech neutral runner is on its way.

In the Wave Prophecy 3, the first major change that stands out is the upper. Mizuno has done away with the checkered mesh upper seen on the previous version in lieu of a more streamlined hexagonal print. Also gone are all the bold overlays that covered a large portion of the shoe for a seamless fit.

The Wave Plate chassis on the Prophecy 3 has also been tweaked for even better cushioning, and falling in line with the rest of Mizuno’s upcoming models, the Prophecy 3 also makes the switch from a standard AP+ midsole to the softer and lighter U4iC.

All these upgrades means the Prophecy 3 will be priced slightly higher than the current model at $210.
