Word on the web is that there are some folks Down Under that have created shark-repellent wetsuits. That’s cool. But you can see why we'd be a little hesitant to suit up and dive right into the deep blue sea in search of sharks just to prove the concept.

Known as SAMS (Shark Attack Mitigation Systems), the Australian company offers a series of products designed to keep those Great White’s off your back. Most notable are the wetsuits—the Shark Deterrent Dive Range for diving, and the Shark Deterrent Surf Range for surfing and swimming. Both suits use disruptive colors and shapes to help swimmers blend in more naturally with the surrounding water, which in turn keeps the sharks from spotting you. The company offers similar technology in other equipment as well, including surfboard stickers, skins for dive tanks, and much more to come.
