In what may be the most bizarre sneaker news you'll come across today, German brand Gost has introduced a new form of barefoot running. Although you probably won't need these medieval-like kicks to defend yourself from sword attacks, the brand hopes that they will serve another purpose altogether.

The Paleo Barefoots are actually constructed with interlocked rings of stainless steel. What this means for runners is a shell of protection and free-flowing breathability like never before. Although the idea is admittedly a bit funky, it's hard to deny that these are attention grabbing.

Interested in picking up a pair of what are likely the very first modern metal running shoes? Head over to Gost today, and have $250 ready.
