The latest Air Jordan has been unveiled. The Air Jordan XX8 — yes, back to the "XX" prefix. The high-top design features a full zippered ankle-wrap that shrouds the actual upper. According to Jordan Brand, the Air Jordan XX8 "is the most-tested (on-court) Air Jordan we've had to date." The inspiration for the Air Jordan XX8 comes from military boots, much like the special forces boots worn by designer Tinker Hatfield at the unveiling. The design weighs in at 13.5 ounces thanks to a carbon fiber "Flight Plate" design that connects the Zoom Air cushioning units. Details include YKK zippers and Schoeller fabrics typically found in motorcycle jackets (which are extremely durable and tear-resistant up to 70 MPH). The retail price of the Air Jordan XX8 is $250, and they will be available on February 16th. Russell Westbrook will begin wearing the Air Jordan XX8 on court tomorrow as the Oklahoma City Thunder take on the Brooklyn Nets.
