As we're sure you've heard by now, the LeBron X, in both regular and Nike+ form, is available on NIKEiD. A few weeks ago — before the Frankenstorm buried the East Coast — we jumped onto the NIKEiD site to put together a LeBron X+ creation of our own and see what exactly we could do. As it turned out, it was quite a bit. Now that the shoe itself has shown up, we can tell you a little more about it.

It's hard to state any single inspiration for our design, other than classic neon-accented basketball shoes from the late '80s and early '90s. The spatter finish on the midsole is a classic Nike feature from that era, and a welcome addition to the LeBron iD experience. Being able to select both the midsole color and the spatter color separately allows for even more of a personal touch — and, for the more detail-oriented among us, something else to obsess over.

In the end, though, simple seemed best. We used three total colors — black, Game Royal and Volt — with the REVOLT iD at the ankle collars serving as a play on the predominant accent color. It would have been possible to outline the Swoosh in Game Royal as well, but that option is only offered on the non-Nike+ LeBron X.

We documented the entire unboxing process in photos above, as well as converting them to a handy GIF below. And if you like what you see, you can enter to win this LeBron X iD shoe right here. What are you waiting for?
