Initially unveiled a couple of weeks ago, the “Desert Strom” football helmet of the Army Black Knights may not be quite as flashy as Oregon’s, but the sand-colored lid is still one of the most unique designs in all of college football.

Finished by HGI (the same folks who do the Oregon helmets), the helmet has a textured feel underneath a multi-colored matte color scheme. The “Desert Storm” aspect of the helmet is pretty obvious, as it has that camo look to it. Its monochromatic finish is contrasted by a black stripe across the top, along with a fierce black facemask. And in case people don’t recognize the team from the side angle, the “ARMY” name stenciled on the back should provide a clue.

The Black Knights will go heads up against Wake Forest today in their “Desert Storm” helmets.
