The 2011-12 NFL season was kind to the New York Giants, as the team won its second Super Bowl title in the past five years. A big reason for the team’s success was the sudden emergence of wide receiver Victor Cruz.
By the end of last season, Cruz left his mark on the league and set the stage for a highly anticipated follow-up season. Well that season is here. And as is usually the case, Cruz’s success on the field is being rewarded by many, including Nike.
Today we get a first look at Cruz’s special edition Nike Lunar TR1 sneakers. While you won’t see these on number 80 in tonight’s opening-day game against the Dallas Cowboys (for obvious reasons), the black/red/yellow training shoes embody the flashy receiver's persona pretty well. The TR1 likely features Nike’s Flywire and Hyperfuse construction to get the best performance out of the shoe possible.
