While the original New Balance MT810 trail runner wasn't a big hit due to excessive weight and overall bulky design, the latest version, the 810 v2, seems to be a significant improvement from its predecessor. The updated version got a complete makeover, with a focus on better performance and all-terrain versatility. The most dramatic change is in the weight of the shoe (down form 13.7 oz to a more manageable 10.9 oz). Aside from the weight, the v2 features a lower 8mm heel-to-toe differential to help with forward momentum. The sneaker is set to drop in February 2013 for $90. Stay tuned for a Sneaker Report performance review on the NB 810 v2.
