Nike has already imbedded the Nike+ technology in its footwear and FuelBand bracelet, now the sportswear giant is working to incorporate that same technology in soccer balls and other performance equipment.
The latest news comes as Nike, along with other brands in the industry, are revolutionizing the way performance data and statistics are interpreted and analyzed. The recently patented system, being referred to as ‘Nike+ TM,’ is made up of sensors and transmitters that, like the present Nike+, will allow better insight into the skills and tendencies of athletes.
While it’s starting with soccer, Nike hopes to expand the digital system across other popular sports as well.
