Liu Xiang had a rough start earlier today, ending his chances at the 100M hurdles in London with a serious stumble over the first hurdle in his Team China Nike Zoom Celar 4s. The 29-year-old athlete became an icon with a Gold medal win in Athens, suffering through injuries in Beijing and now London.
Even the winner of the heat, Team GB's Andy Turner, mentioned he regarded Xiang as one of the best hurdler in history. Tough day for Team China at the track, but it's good to hear compassion in spite of competition.
