Designed by Eric Avar, 2001's Nike Air Hyper Flight was intended to be as striking as it was lightweight. The initial run was available in candy-color synthetics, all featuring molded anti-inversion device on the ankles and heavy perforations on the medial sides. As part of the "Alpha Project" of advanced designs, they also included the five Alpha dots on the side of the outsole. This deadstock red pair of size 10s might not be ready for the court — they proved to be a bit too underbuilt — but would make a perfect addition to any Nike Basketball collection.
