9. adidas EQT Torsion Support
The adidas Equipment line appeared in 1991, with the Support accompanied by the Cushion, Guidance and Runner. The Equipment line was the brainchild of former Nike marketing kingpin Rob Strasser (RIP) and Jordan I designer Peter Moore. That colorway, plus that use of the 3-stripes as a supportive framework made the Support an undisputed masterpiece. The stylish cure to overpronation and a need for motion control can't be tested. This was one of the first carriers of new adidas branding to see in a new decade and it hasn't been surpassed in the design stakes. The EQT Zero's a nice tribute, but it doesn't come close.
