35. adidas Torsion SP

Year: 1990

adidas have quite a legacy of creating rough terrain runners, but their Torsion system's flexible cutaway always seemed like a delicate-looking technology. The Torsion SP dismissed that notion in aggressive style — reinforced, reworked and satisfyingly chunky compared to its synthetic suede and mesh buddies, the SP was still built to perform. It's even more appealing when the GORE-TEX badge is on the upper, and the original (and subsequent brace of retro versions) makeup was blessed with some of the most appealing colorways in adidas's history. This was the running shoe with added creatine.
