39. Nike Air Mariah PR

The original Mariah was one of the early Air experiments in cushioned nothingness for maximum performance, dating back to 1981, then it was brought back in racing flat form at the end of the decade, clocking less on the scales This 1990 version was part of the PR 'Personal Record' set which included an update on the excellent Duellist too. The Mariah PR fits small, but that Radiant Pink sole set the standard for the colored soles on the Lunar pieces almost two decades later, while the white/pink/purple palette cropped up on other fine runners like the Air Apparent and Air 180 the following year.
