Half of the sneaker game is knowing what kicks are out when, and which shops have them. Our Shelf Space column looks at what shops around the country are stocking in a given week, and gives a quick glimpse into the mind of the buyer/manager/owner who put them there.

As we continue our mission of bringing you the insides of the best sneaker spots from around the U.S., we headed down to Hotlanta and stopped in at Standard, located in Atlanta, Georgia. The shop's owner, Farshad Arshid, gave us a look at 10 of the newest sneakers currently sitting on the store shelves. DC District 4 TX, $75

Standard Says: "New models from DC are always welcomed. A great shoe matched with an even better price is something that DC always does well. The ballistic upper and a great colorway made for a stronger DC lineup on the shelf."

Gourmet The 31, $100

Standard Says: "The 31s are the cool guy summer shoes. With a perforated leather upper, this was a solid release for Gourmet. The brand always does a great job of making standout shoes and, who doesn’t love gum bottoms?"

Supra Skytop II, $155

Standard Says: "The Skytops are still everyone’s favorite high-top. Supra continues to keep the model going strong with fresh new colorways, which keep Supra fans excited about them."

Billionaire Boys Club Nothing, $155

Standard Says: "This shoe was a great release. It complemented the rest of the line very well and, as always, clean and simple wins. The shoes departed from the usual BBC attention-grabbing colorways and prints, but the nylon upper still helped them stand out."

DC Studio, $80

Standard Says: "Simplicity always works well. A clean low-top shoe is always a staple of the summer. I’m also a huge fan of brands beginning to add two sets of laces. It gives an added option right out of the box."

Clae Russell, $135

Standard Says: "The Russell has definitely become a classic for Clae. This season they gave the shoe a nice mix of color – giving the shoe a new look and giving them a great summer feel."

G-Star Yard Raw Essential, $120

Standard Says: "G-Star puts the same great attention to detail into their footwear as they do with their apparel, and that’s why we like them. The mix of materials and styles always gets a great response."

Gourmet Nove, $110

Standard Says: "As the Gourmet fan base grows, their new models are always well received. Also, the great thing about the brand and the Nove model is the ability to appeal to everyone."

Mark McNairy Chukka Boot, $345

Standard Says: "We always like the Chukka silhouette, but when Mr. McNairy gave these Chukka Boots a denim finish with frayed edges – so that it wears like your favorite pair of jeans – we feel in love."

Mark McNairy Derby Shoe, $340

Standard Says: "That it’s great looking and made with the best materials possible are why we are huge fans of our Mark McNairy’s. Even better still is how great these shoes look when you throw them on with jeans and a t-shirt. Casual or dressed up, it all works."
