Foot Locker in Australia aimed to shake up the sneaker world by opening a sneaker art contest to all comers. Entrants could choose from eight different sneaker templates including Nike, adidas, Puma, and Converse. The goal was to allow artists from all over to participate in the richest art competition ever, exceeding the previous richest contest by exactly one dollar. Kalin Thompson, a 24-year old from Brisbane, took home the $50,001 AUS prize money which worth over $55,000 USD with the work above.
