Homixide Gang

Homixide Gang, the explosive duo hailing from Atlanta, delivers a unique blend of street raps and mystique, crafting trap music that feels like a glimpse into the future. Comprised of Homixide Meechie and Homixide Beno!, the pair’s journey began in 2021 with their breakout track "Rockstar Trapper!". The two became fast friends after meeting at a basketball game as young teens. While Meechie and Beno! loved listening to music, before stepping into the booth, they were caught up in a different lifestyle. ”I was lost,” Beno! says. When his brother was sent to prison, Meechie began taking music seriously. “I just knew it was a way to provide for my family,” he explains. Since then, they've honed their craft, combining energetic beats with powerful flows and developed a worldwide fanbase. Growing up in Atlanta's Zone 6, Meechie and Beno! were immersed in the vibrant energy of the city. For his part, Beno! recalls listening to his future inspirations Gucci Mane and Future as he cruised around the city with his father. When he wasn’t listening to music, he was playing basketball; when he wasn’t playing basketball, he was watching it. To this day, he can still remember watching his favorite player Tracy McGrady dominate the competition, and he always wanted to compete big, too. “I love winning,” says Beno! For Meechie, early inspiration came from Alley Boy, OutKast, and Chief Keef. Aside from music, he loved dirt biking and playing football. “I was an outside kid,” he says. Despite their love for music, their early years were marked by a focus on street life rather than the studio. However, a turning point came when Meechie decided to take music seriously as a means to provide for his family. Teaming up with Beno!, who shared the same passions, they began their journey into the music industry. Their early singles, characterized by futuristic pixelated beats and dynamic flows, served as the blueprint for the duo's distinctive style. In the studio collaborating with Problem Child, the duo crossed paths with Playboi Carti. It was during this session that their infectious track "SSN" caught Carti's attention, leading him to sign them as Opium artists, “It feels good knowing that an artist in the game genuinely fucks with us,” says Meechie. As "SSN" and hits like "Rockstar Trapper" racked up millions of streams, they pushed forward, laying the foundation for their much-anticipated debut project, Snotty Hill. Homixide Gang continued to gain more momentum with subsequent projects Snotty World (2021), Homixide Lifestyle (2022), Snot or Not (2023), and 5th AMNDMNT (2023). Tracks like “5unna,” “Lifestyle,” and “Uzi Work” have collectively amasses over 113 million Spotify streams to date, and the duo has earned status as stars at the forefront of the new Atlanta. In 2024, the duo shared their debut album, I5U5WE5, under Opium/Interscope Records. Revolver declared it “the sound of the future.” “We tryna take this shit global,” Meechie says, and they’re already reaching that goal. Their impact has transcended borders, evident in their recently sold-out tour across China and their electrifying North American 5 ACTIVITY tour. This global reach is further highlighted by “HI-VOLTAGE,” the album's lead single. Infused with pulsating energy and hypnotic melodies, it encapsulates the frenzied brilliance of the duo. “It’s our lifestyle,” Beno! shares. Meechie calls it a level-up. “It’s all improvement. We’re blazing flames in real life.” Looking ahead to 2025, Homixide Gang have been teasing their long-awaited album Homixide Lifestyle 2, the sequel to Homixide Lifestyle (2022). After much anticipation, they finally released “Free Agents,” which continues to showcase their thrilling lifestyle and hustler mentality. The track, produced by Pi’erre Bourne, made waves, accumulating over 640k views, giving fans a behind-the-scenes glimpse into their journey. In addition to their musical pursuits, the duo aspires to venture into movies and establish their own record label, aiming to leave a lasting impact. They take stock of what they’ve accomplished, but there’s more to do. More dreams to build and more sounds to conquer. “It feels good to change my old way of life and my family’s way of life,” Beno! says. “I’m happy, but I’m going to get happier because it’s going to get bigger and bigger.” For Meechie and Beno!, music is not just a career but a way to elevate themselves and their families to new heights. With the highly anticipated Homixide Lifestyle 2, they’re sure to accomplish just that.
