The possible new series is evidently being billed as a "dark comedy" that sees the esteemed Kathryn Hahn back in character as Agatha Harkness.

A Kathryn Hahn-starring WandaVision spinoff is in development at Marvel Studios and Disney+.

Thursday, Variety and Deadline cited sources saying the spinoff is in the development stages. The potential series, of course, would see Hahn revisiting the part of Agatha Harkness. The project is evidently being billed as a “dark comedy,” though plot info is understandably being kept secret.

The head writer for WandaVision, Jac Schaeffer, is also mentioned in the report as being the writer and executive producer behind the possible spinoff. In May of this year, Schaeffer inked a three-year overall deal with Marvel Studios and 20th Television; she also’s one of two writers with a “story by” credit on Black Widow.

Complex has reached out to reps for Disney, Hahn, and Schaeffer for comment.

Notably, we’re less than a month removed from the well-earned Creative Arts Emmys victory for “Agatha All Along,” the almost devastatingly catchy track performed by Hahn in the episode “Breaking the Fourth Wall.” The hit series also won in the Outstanding Production Design category, while its multiple nominations in the main Primetime Emmy categories didn’t lead to wins.

WandaVision director Matt Shakman was announced over the summer to be tackling the Star Trek universe next. Hahn, meanwhile, was reported last week to be playing the late Joan Rivers in an upcoming Showtime limited series titled The Comeback Girl. She will also executive produce the project, which counts You and Dawson’s Creek alum Greg Berlanti as its director.

But first, fellow Hahnheads should keep an eye out for the Apple TV+ original The Shrink Next Door, also starring Will Ferrell and Paul Rudd. The podcast-adapting dark comedy hits the streamer next month.
