While 'Euphoria' fans are still coming to terms with the fact that the HBO blockbuster likely won't be returning until 2024, Sydney Sweeney is staying busy.

Sydney Sweeney has signed on to star alongside Dakota Johnson in Sony’s upcoming Madame Web, a film adaptation of Marvel Comics’ Spider-Man-adjacent character.

The Euphoria actress, according to an article from Deadline and seemingly confirmed on her Instagram, has joined the S.J. Clarkson-directed project in an undisclosed role. Back in February, the same outlet revealed that Johnson—recently seen in Netflix’s Oscar-nominated The Lost Daughter—was in talks to play the title character, who notably marks the first woman superhero headliner in Sony’s Marvel-verse.

The 24-year-old seemingly confirmed the news by sharing Deadline’s piece on her Instagram Stories and profile (plus Twitter), captioning it only with a spiderweb emoji:

Sweeney’s recent string of ubiquitous hits, of course, also includes Euphoria’s fellow HBO smash The White Lotus and Machine Gun Kelly and Mod Sun’s Downfalls Highshort film.

As for when Euphoria fans can expect a return from Sam Levinson and company, current speculation—as broken down in greater detail here—is that the third season may not launch until 2024. In the meantime, enjoy the below video (via the Kimmel team) of Succession’s Brian Cox being edited into a key Cassie scene from the show’s most recent season.
