Pete Davidson is proposing “peace” with the people of Syracuse, New York after a recent booing incident.
As you may or may not have seen scattered across your timeline, the King of Staten Island writer and star was indeed met with a wave of boos while in attendance at a recent Syracuse Orangemen and Louisville Cardinals game at the Carrier Dome.
Davidson, as Deadline and others have since pointed out, previously referred to the city as “trash” during a 2018 interview with Howard Stern.
“Dude, I was shooting this movie out in Syracuse. Syracuse, you know, it’s trash,” Davidson said of shooting Jason Orley’s MGK-featuring Big Time Adolescence in the city. “Worse than Staten Island. The nicest hotel in Syracuse is, like, a fucking Ramada.”
As for the filmed booing at the Orangemen and Cardinals game, the Saturday Night Live star later made the “peace” suggestion when speaking with reporter Mike Curtis.
“Hello, Syracuse Orangemen,” Davidson said, as seen below. “Thank you so much for having me and my friends in the building. We had a really great time. So, peace?”
Davidson, who was recently made the subject of “Eazy” lyrics by way of Ye, was reported last month to have linked up with fellow SNL star Colin Jost to procure a decommissioned Staten Island ferry. Per Vulture, Davidson and Jost (alongside club owner Paul Italia) paid a reported $280,100 for the ferry that will now be turned into an entertainment venue.
