Unplug and Recharge with Ford Broncos ‘Challenge Accepted’

In the second Ford Bronco 'Challenge Accepted' series Tyrhee Moore and his mother showcase how the 2022 SUV assists in them both maintaining their wellness.

Sometimes closing your laptop isn’t enough. Placing your notifications on “do not disturb” doesn’t do the trick either. When your brain is cluttered, the best remedy may be getting away, and that’s exactly what Soul Trek founder Tyrhee Moore and his mother, Aretha did.

Jumping into the 2022 Ford Bronco Sport, the mother and son duo journeyed to Malibu, California as part of the Complex and Ford Challenge Accepted initiative, a program aimed at getting people outside of their comfort zone with friends to experience a bit of nature and adventure.

For Moore, unplugging from the demands of everyday life isn’t just a luxury, it’s a necessity. “I think it’s incredibly important to hit the pause button,” Moore says. “Get yourself in a position to come back stronger and to come back sharper. Hopping in a car, getting out of the city, and getting to see some nature is something I do very often.”

As a mountaineer, Moore created a space for communities of color to enjoy the great outdoors with other like-minded people. Yet, despite the joy Moore receives from Soul Trek, taking the time to clear his head also aids in how he runs his business.

“[Getting away] allows you to slow down and think through a lot of what’s going on, but it also allows you to forget about it in a lot of ways,” Moore says. “Running an organization has really shown me the value of maintaining my mental health.”
