October is a lot of things, including quite possibly the best month of the year. For 2021, at least, it’s also the month in which we finally get to experience a new take on Dune from Arrival director Denis Villeneuve.
Thursday, Warner Bros. Pictures shared the final trailer for the latest adaption of Frank Herbert’s classic. Timothée Chalamet stars alongside Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Josh Brolin, Jason Momoa, and more.

Chalamet leads the cast as Paul Atreides, a character previously brought to the big screen by Kyle MacLachlan in David Lynch’s 1984 adaptation. The surefire visual feast will see the character’s journey soundtracked by the musical mastery of Hans Zimmer, who last linked with Villeneuve for Blade Runner 2049.
Amid the revelations tucked into the promo run for Dune is that Chalamet was understandably hell-bent on being a part of Villeneuve’s film, even going so far as to set up a Google alert so he could keep tabs on the adaptation’s progress.
“I was about halfway through the book when I got the call that he was going to be the president of the jury at the Cannes Film Festival, and I was in London prepping The King,” Chalamet told Deadline in August ahead of Dune’s Venice premiere. “He asked me if I could come out there, so I quickly busted through the second half of the book as best I could.”
A highlight among the projects on Chalamet’s future agenda is an upcoming Paul King-directed movie in which the actor will play a young Willy Wonka. But first, this month’s Dune drop will be quite strategically complemented by the release of The French Dispatch. The latter is the latest entry in the Wes Anderson canon and is as star-stacked as should be expected for the director.
