Director: Michael Lehmann
Starring: Winona Ryder, Christian Slater, Shannen Doherty

Heathers is the perfect example of a cult movie that bursts into the mainstream after failing to gather much of an audience when it came out (to be fair, it has had almost thirty years to do so). Michael Lehmann’s high school satire may have spawned a hit Off-Broadway musical and an upcoming television adaptation on the Paramount Network, but ultimately, nothing can match the pure, striking originality of the original, with its stellar performances from Winona Ryder and Christian Slater and whip-smart screenplay from Daniel Waters —“Dear Diary, my teen angst bullshit now has a body count.”
