Less than two months after video captured her introducing herself to former President Donald Trump during a UFC 264 fight, Addison Rae wants to set the record straight on their brief encounter.

In a recent interview with the Los Angeles Times, the 20-year-old TikTok star-turned-actress explained that fans shouldn’t have assumed her meet-and-greet with Trump meant she supported the former president.

“I mean, I don’t support Trump,” she said. “And if someone does, that’s their opinion and I respect everyone’s opinion, for each their own. But it’s very rare on occasion that you ever get to meet a former president, and I think most people could agree with me on that. It’s very uncommon. And I consider myself a friendly person, and so introducing myself does not mean I stand behind anything that any respective person condones.”

Back in July, a video of Rae went viral in which she eagerly greeted Trump during a UFC 246 match.

Addison can be seen in the clip going out of her way to approach the former president, who enters the arena and takes a seat directly in front of her. She manuvers herself toward Trump, taps him on the shoulder and introduces herself.

“Hi,” she says to Trump in the short clip. “I’m Addison. Nice to meet you, I have to say ‘hi.’”

After the encounter was posted on social media, many fans were disappointed by the interaction, questioning why Rae would approach a president she previously went out of her way to deny supporting.

The video arrived several months after Addison was called out on TikTok for being a Republican, which she denied. The accusations stemmed from a suspected Trump flag in her bedroom, which Rae clarified was in fact something entirely different.
