Microsoft, Facebook Support AT&T and T-Mobile Merger

The controversial merger has its proponents

None

Unlike Sprint, which has vehemently opposed the union of two of its largest competitors, Microsoft and Facebook have formally thrown their support behind the proposed merger of AT&T and T-Mobile. The two companies joined RIM, Oracle and Yahoo! in sending a letter of appeal to the U.S. Department of Justice and the Federal Communications Commission.

The merger, which would make the combined company the largest wireless network provider in the country, and reduce the number of major carriers from four to three, is currently under exhaustive review by the DOJ and FCC.
