Despite her legacy as a sexual icon, was there a chance that Marilyn Monroe was actually batting for the same team? A new book— Marilyn Monroe: My Little Secret— alleges that she once had a fling with Jennifer Lawrence, a 16-year-old girl who ran her fan club.
"Jane met Marilyn when she was 12 because her adopted father ran the legal department at RKO studio," says Tony Jerris, who penned the book "They soon became close friends after realizing that they had been in the same orphanage at different times of their lives, even though Marilyn was 14 years older, and neither of them knew their birth fathers. They became close friends because there were so many similarities in their past."
Jerris said he met Lawrence in 2001, and that she became a close friend and business partner. She told him that one night in 1955, she went to Monroe's apartment in Los Angeles, presumably to help her with some home decorating. But there was more in store. Marilyn had already been drinking champagne and the prescription drug Nembutal by the time she arrived. While they were measuring paper to line shelves in Monroe's apartment, the actress kissed her thigh with a "mischievous twinkle in her eye."
"The next few minutes became hazy, surreal and dream-like," says Lawrence. "My pulse leaped as Marilyn kissed my thigh again... she then leaned in and kissed me full on the lips, very softly and very slowly. I was nearly hyperventilating. We moved through the living room into the bedroom. Marilyn used her tongue, lavishly flicking and licking, an entirely new sensation for me. With the girls I had enjoyed sex with, there was often a shyness and hesitancy, not the hunger and confidence Marilyn displayed."
The author doesn't believe that Marilyn was a full-on lesbian, though.
"She was just a free spirit," he says. "She was a very open person."
