UPDATE 01/15/16:

Nicole Arbour has responded to a video her ex-boyfriend Matthew Santoro posted about being abused by Arbour. In a video that begins with old footage of the couple, allegedly one week before the couple broke up according to Arbour, she says the accusations are false and that Santoro is doing it for attention. Arbour said, "Crying wolf on a serious subject, a very serious subject, and trying to fabricate a very large story and taking a tiny little thing and spinning it into something that just didn't happen is just sick and really diminishes the validity of people's stories who actually have suffered abuse."

In the video Arbour explains she had asked Santoro to not "put her life on the internet" saying she felt "violated" when he continuously did—including this instance—despite her wishes. Arbour thinks he's trying to hurt her and her career. She posted these tweets after releasing the video:

See original story below.

Back in September, YouTuber Matthew Santoro uploaded an emotional video revealing the physical abuse he endured during a year-long relationship with an unnamed woman. According to the Daily Dot, that woman was Nicole Arbour—the "comedian" behind the controversial "Dear Fat People" video.

The confession stayed private until he accidentally made it public on Jan. 10  and has since decided to leave it up. In the 14-minute video, Santoro details instances of extreme jealously in which he was forced to remove female friends from his contacts and how that escalated to outright physical abuse. Head here for additional anecdotes by his friend, Rob Dyke

In sensitive situations like these, it’s always important to hear both sides of the matter. So how did Arbor respond to the video that has received an outpour of support from the YouTube community? With the same amount of emotional sensitivity as her "comedic" rant, of course.

What a gem.
