Authorities in North Carolina say a stabbing left three children dead and two more people injured last night.
According to the Associated Press, police in New Bern, N.C. received a phone call at roughly 11 p.m. about someone armed with a knife at a residence. After taking a suspect into custody, police entered the home and found the victims—two of the children were already dead; the third later died at a local hospital.
New Bern Police Lt. Ronda Allen told the Associated Press that an adult and another juvenile were injured, but had been released from the hospital. None of the victims' names or ages have been released at this time.
Although Allen noted that the suspect knew the victims, no motive has been identified. The Associated Press reports that the State Bureau of Investigation is aiding the New Bern Police Department's investigation. Furthermore, specific charges for the suspect have not been released either.
